Owner/Master Stylist ($90/hour)

Mel Hiltz (they/them) is a trans, non-binary hairstylist and the owner of Bridge Beauty Bar. Specializing in curly hair and natural texture, Mel is passionate about gender-affirming beauty and creating safer, inclusive spaces for all. Originally from Nova Scotia, Mel moved to Ottawa to pursue a career in cosmetology and returned home in 2020. With over 9 years of experience as both an educator and stylist, they are dedicated to making clients feel seen and celebrated for who they are. Outside of work, you can find Mel crunching numbers for Valley Pride or hiking local trails with their pug, Bernie.

Stylist ($75/hour)

Nicole has been offering inclusive and gender affirming hair services for all ages in the Annapolis Valley since 2020. Her favourite styles include shags, mullets, short clippering, and creative colour. Especially “vintage inspired” looks. She loves talking about community outreach, local performing arts and her latest playlist, but she’s just as enthusiastic about delivering therapeutic quiet chair services upon request. When she’s not behind the chair you can find her harmonizing into a karaoke mic, pretending to be at the rollerdisco on her pink quad rollerskates or at home cuddling her therapy cat, Calvin.

Apprentice Stylist ($50/hour) / Nail Tech

Linds is a queer, non binary apprentice stylist from Kentville, NS. They attended Elevate Beauty Institute where they graduated in August 2023. Linds has a passion for vivid colours and children’s cuts! They are always up for new education to further their skill set and advance their career. When Linds isn’t behind the chair you can find them chilling with their cat, Lily, while listening to Stevie Nicks on the record player!

Veronica brings her creative passion to life through the services she provides! Whether you are looking to have your hair styled for an event, creating a new shape for your haircut, or mixing a color to make you feel your absolute best! Veronica loves providing gender-affirming cuts and is always working toward creating a safe space for all clients. She understands the importance of an inclusive and welcoming environment where everyone can feel comfortable expressing themselves. With 11 years in the industry, her love of education has always remained! Enrolling in courses to enhance guest experience is a priority as well as remaining current with the latest techniques and trends. Veronica is thrilled to introduce you to services that are safe for you and the environment!

Sugar Practitioner

Liv is the owner of, Off the table beauty and wellness, a hair removal and wellness service providing sugaring hair removal, skin care, and makeup applications. Specializing in intimate sugaring, Liv proudly offer one Brazilian, at one price, for all genders. Inclusion and creating a safe space for everyone to thrive in is Liv’s number one priority. She created Off the Table Beauty with the goal to create barrier free, welcoming spaces in an industry that is nutritiously unwelcoming for fat bodies, trans people, people with disabilities, and people of colour. As a fat, queer person with both mental and physical disabilities, Liv has experienced time and time again how ill-equipped beauty spaces are at accommodating, both as a client and as an employee. For Liv, wellness is a personal thing, it’s about what makes YOU feel good and whatever that looks like for you is beautiful.
